I tried the Hanacure All-In-One facial set. Now my skin is glowing

I haven’t been the kindest to my skin over the years. Sunscreen was not in my vocabulary until I was almost 40 and grew up in the 70s and 80s, a face mask maybe meant brushing on egg whites and l ‘lawyer.

The past two decades have given me meaning – and a bit of SPF on my face – and now, at 56, I’m more careful and aware of my skin.

So, in addition to my face oil and moisturizer which I diligently apply every day (and sunscreen whenever I’m outside), I was delighted to try the face mask. miraculous Hanacure I had heard of. If anything like a hope of respite – even temporarily – from my face resembling an old leather handbag.

Hanacure All-in-One Face Starter Set

Hanacure is South Korea’s ‘all in one’ K-beauty face mask that has attracted legions of famous fans in recent years. Drew Barrymore expressed his love for the product, at one point calling it “professional level treatment at home”.

I wanted to see what it was about.

It’s easy to put on

The packaging is the first intriguing part of the puzzle. It’s sleek, like an iPhone or some other fancy gadget. I had the one-time starter set, but it offers a more expensive four-set option. Once opened I felt like a scientist mixing the little bottle of serum with the gel pack. The kit also comes with a stylish brush with which to apply the gel. Once mixed, there was more than enough product for my face and neck, so I used the excess on the backs of my hands.

I knew my skin was very “thirsty” because of my age and my menopause. According to anti-aging specialist Dr. Robert Keller, the mask’s ingredients suck moisture into the skin.

“Basically, the protective outer layer will absorb moisture from the product, expanding like a dry sponge would and making you feel like you have more volume,” Keller explained.

It gave me hope.

With no makeup on my face, I had a clean canvas (but loaded with divots) as I easily painted over Hanacure Clear Gel (making sure to avoid eyelids and lips, per instructions).

it works very fast

Within 3 minutes, my skin started to itch. I kept my hands away from my face as the sensation changed to intense itching and tightness. However, he did not burn.

About 7 minutes later, my face was practically frozen. I could barely make an expression when I tried! Soon after, the contortions began. The mask became so tight that it rearranged the structure of my face. By the time the full 20 minutes hit, my face was pulled in directions I didn’t know it could go.

Hanacure advises you to ventilate your face if you want more thorough drying. Instead of fanning myself, I spent the extra time hammering it, sending creepy selfies to my daughters. I looked like a sleepy, sad monster. It was bordering on discomfort, but at least I laughed about it.

It left me glowing

I didn’t expect the mask to transform my skin. As Keller explained to us at Shop TODAY, any results I would have would be temporary because “a face mask does not affect the dermis, the base of the skin where collagen is produced.” Anything that changes the skin cell should be prescription quality, he added.

But I went for it in the hopes of having glowing skin – and that’s exactly what I got. Over an hour later, my skin tone retained this healthy looking shade, which was the main benefit for me. And the brightness and softness was still there when I went to bed, and voila, lasted until the next morning.

Hanacure’s ingredient list states that “the hydrating biopolymers soothe and hydrate the skin while reducing fine lines,” and although my skin is not damp (it is very thirst), it was definitely sweeter. The ingredients also include antioxidants, which Keller says “neutralize free radicals” that form when the skin is stressed or undergoes hormonal changes.

“Some of the ingredients, such as beta-glucan and lotus leaf, are powerful antioxidants. So in this way the mask helps in a way that you might not be able to see,” he said. he declares.

No, the unique Hanacure mask didn’t cure my wrinkles, but it was a perfect pick-me-up before putting on real clothes (instead of leggings and a T-shirt) and heading out for a delicious dinner with my family. .
